New Bike

Yes, our three-year-old is riding a bike. Expect many more these movies today because I have a feeling this is what our Saturday is going to consist of.

Some fun facts!

  • Cole is 3 1/2 years old
  • He now has 4 bikes
  • A wood scoot bike (totally crap)
  • A converted scoot, a 12″ fixed gear that we bought at a bodega by our old house in NE.
  • A 16″ with training wheels and a coaster brake. Thats the one he got for his 3rd birthday. Is just a little to big for him to ride without the training wheels.
  • Yesterday he got a 12″ Schwinn, that has a coaster brake. Within five minutes of being on it he was riding by himself.

The Fever

Co has had a fever since Saturday…he has been miserable and therefore we have been miserable. No sleep at the KU household! Co is getting all of his molars at the same time…I (Jo) am not sure if this is why he has a fever, but it is cause of his pain. The high of the fever got to 102 and I freaked out. The advice nurse has been consulted very regularly around here. She insisted that it was out dated to think that a high fever would do damage…perhaps I am outdated, but no one wants to see their boy miserable. His fever is less today and he is full of smiles again (and deafening whining). Even at his worst times, he always has a little energy to shake his groove thing…that boy was born to boogie! The game plan is to keep him doctored up and try to make him comfortable. We will report more later!

Big Boy Party

Co had his 1st birthday party today and it was awesome. His party was at Columbia Cottage in North Portland and it was perfect. I (Jo) planned for months and crafted for weeks (and shopped at Costco for hours), but it was all worth it. A big thank you to Mo for his behind the scenes work, to my mom and sister for fyling up here and doing a lot of work to make this day so great, and all the family who made the trek to give their birthday wishes.  Thank you to Tom, the musician. Oh and last but not least, and all of Co’s community who loves and supports him. I am going to write about the party and post pictures every day until Co’s “real” birthday on Thursday.  We hope you enjoy. Thanks again for loving us and more importantly our little man. Happy Birthday week little guy!

Spring Baby

Here are some pictures of the boy…pre and post haircut. There are photos of his first trip to the petting zoo, him playing ball, being silly with crazy hair, getting his haircut, and opening some of his birthday presents sent from his Papa Kelly and Nina. That is right folks…this little boy is about to turn ONE! Stay tuned to find out what Co’s first Easter is like.
