Weekend Worriors

This weekend was huge, one of the biggest pushes on the kitchen so far. We made some real progress. The floor is installed, the counter tops are installed, walls are very close to being ready for paint.

There was also some real movement in co’s room this weekend, not quite ready for photos yet but getting there.

Much thanks to William, for understanding that floor, and owning it. To Joseph for making the drive and knocking out those counter tops. To Brian for helping with a leg in a cast and to Jil and Lindsay for making sure co has a place to sleep.

Co gets showered

Here is a short video of today’s baby shower for co. I have been trying to upload it for the last three hours. I’ve tried different plugins, different sites that would embed it for me. And the only thing that worked in the end was dot mac. So please forgive me for not having fancy video, all over this post. I kind of look at this as a start.

Much thanks to everyone at FCC for putting on such a great shower, and to Shirley, without her both co and the video would not possible.

Update: Here is a low res copy on youtube, if clicking through is too hard.

Kitchen: T+14 days, Eye: T-1.5 days,

Island wall It feels like we have hit a milestone this evening, we have installed all of the new cabinets (not pictured above). We had a birthing class all day today so the progress on the kitchen has been minimal. However small the progress has been its progress none the less. And it feels really good to be able to have the hanging of the cabinets behind us. Next up, I will be installing the sub-straight for the counter top, sink and dishwasher. I have about 24 hours to get all that done before I go back under the knife. I think for this surgery I’m going to be posting my updates to jomoandco. This site is very new, and jo and I have not fully decided how we are going to use it. There a lot of things changing in our lives, it seems like even our relationships with time is changing (I think its speeding up or something). Needless to say, I think this site is going to be an attempt to consolidate our energy, at least when it comes to the recording of or lives. Well at least we will give it a shot.

Hole Shot

hole shot

This morning has been kind of rocky, I had to have some blood drawn. And after the eye, I really hate things that get stuck into my body. So after getting blood drawn I thought my day was on a upswing. Turns out I was wrong. After parking my truck I was walking to the back of my office, AND I FELL THOUGH A MANHOLE. Yes thats right, straight through. This morning has been crap.

Kitchen remodel day 7

jo paintingIts the small things

We have come a long way in a week. Living out of the one of our bedrooms. There has not been much sleep for me, I’ve left that up to jo and co. We got all the cabinets on the east wall installed along with the installation of the frig, microwave (w00t) and stove. Prop’s to pop, two weeks in a row, there is only one word to describe that man, HARDCORE. To Bean’s for keeping it real and rocking and rolling all weekend. And to Jil doing that painting oh so well. Only thing left is everything.

Thunder from down under

There’s your problemWell its official, we have started the kitchen remodel. Demo is the worst part of remodeling. When people say “I love demo” they are not the people that are going to be putting the place back together. My back hurt for 2 days. Much thanks to Justin, who has been promoted to Legend status, this guy busted 2 out of my 3 shovels. And to my pop who has done this before, and that is what really counts.
