And according to an Alaskan news article in the local Wasilla paper in the year 2000, the City of Wasilla, under Mayor Palin, charged rape victims for their own forensic tests. Most Alaskan municipalities picked up the tab themselves, but not Wasilla, the article notes. You see, the city of Wasilla, the article notes, didn’t want to “burden” taxpayers with having to support victims of rape.
So I dont know what to say about this, its been kicking around interweb for a month or so, but Jo brought it up today. Making me think that it might have hit some type of critical mass.

If I Had 700 Billion Dollars
I just came across this article at the Consumerist, talking about somethings that we could buy as a country with 700 billon dollars. The list is based off an New York Times article that illustrates, with a great illustration, the cost of the war in Iraq.
My favorite, for $700 billon, you could provide Universal healthcare for everyone without health insurance….. for 7 f-ing years…. Lets do that, I think that healthcare is a much better investment then some shady investment banks. I’m Looking at you Ron Wyden, Gordon Smith, and all you silly Representatives
